So I have been reading various articles that claim Nevin Shapiro reached out to current Ole Miss coach Houston Nutt. Shapiro contacted Nutt following the firing of Larry Coker in 2006. Apparently the call lasted thirty minutes. It seems that Nutt was interested in the job. Looks like Shapiro had quite a bit of pull around campus. This does not make Miami look good if they are trying to disassociate themselves from Shapiro.
