Artie Burns Picks the U

Northwestern four-star DB Artie Burns verbally committed to the University of Miami over his "dream school," LSU.

Burns (6-0, 183) has a final three that consisted of Miami, LSU, Florida State and Southern California.  He becomes the first committed defensive back for Miami's 2013 class.

Burns originally committed to the University of Alabama, however, Al Golden and staff continued to pursue him.  Upon his decommittment from Alabama in March, Miami was in prime position to land the highly touted defensive back.

According to 247.com, "Miami is also getting an elite track and field athlete in Burns. As a junior this past year Burns posted the fastest 110 meter hurdles time in the country at 13.35. He also had the second fastest 300 meter hurdles time at 36.06. His 110 time this year was the fastest time run in that event by a high schooler since 2009. Last year Burns set the national sophomore record."

Burns becomes the 10th commitment for Miami's 2013 class.
