Five Miami Alums to Play in Pro Bowl

The 2012 Pro Bowl roster has been released and it features five former Miami Hurricanes.

Ray Lewis, Ed Reed, Vince Wilfork, Frank Gore, and Jimmy Graham have all been voted in.  It seems that our numbers have been cut in half--compared to the 10 UM alums that were selected last year.

I find it hard to belive that Devin Hester has been snubbed.  People seem to think that Patrick Peterson is the better of the two--seriously?

With the injury to Peyton Manning, Reggie Wayne hasn't had the season that he hoped for.  Andre Johnson has been plagued by injuries all season long.  And why isn't Vilma on this list?  Hell, even McGahee has had a stellar year.

Although Miami continues to pump players into the league, a lot of the productive 'Cane alums are just getting old.  The decline is to be expected.

However, with Shields, Bailey, McCarthy, Franklin, it is only a matter of time before these youngsters blossom and find themselves playing in Hawaii.

Miami still has five players in the pro bowl, more than any other college--as well as any other school in Florida.
