Jimmy Johnson Elected into College Hall of Fame

Former UM head football coach Jimmy Johnson will be inducted into the 2012 College Football Hall of Fame.

Johnson is only the third Miami coach to ever be inducted into the Hall, joining Jack Harding (1980) and Andy Gustafson (1985).

Johnson coached the 'Canes for five seasons (1984-1988) and finished with a 52-9 record, including a 1987 National Title.  Miami finished a perfect 12-0, beating then-No. 1 Oklahoma in the Orange Bowl.

He would leave Miami following the 1988 season to replace Tom Landry in Dallas.  Johnson would go on to win two Super Bowls with the Cowboys (1992-93).  He is one of only six men to ever win back-to-back Super Bowls.
