Aubrey Hill Resigns from Gators

Aubrey Hill, the former Miami Hurricanes wide receivers coach who went on to hold the same position with the Florida Gators, has officially resigned.  While at Miami, Hill allegedly committed various recruiting violations and his name was among those listed in the infamous Yahoo! article, authored by Charles Robinson.

According to the University of Florida, Hill resigned due to "personal reasons" effective immediately.  However, it has been speculated that Hill resigned due to his involvement with Miami ex-booster and convicted felon Nevin Shapiro.

According to Will Muschamp, "Aubrey informed me he was resigning for personal reasons that have nothing to do with the University of Florida."  Aubrey didn't want to be a distraction to our team and our football program and he thought it was best for him to move on. I appreciate Aubrey's efforts and wish him the best moving forward. He will always remain a Gator."

Shaprio claims that Hill frequented his house, along with Clint Hurtt, where they brought a number of high-caliber recruits, including Ray Ray Armstrong, Dyron Dye, and Andre Debose.  Armstrong and Dye would end up committing to Miami while Debose chose the Gators.  Shapiro also alleges that the group visited various strip clubs and bars where he picked up the tabs.

Hill was on the Gators staff for only a year.  With the current Miami investigation, it seems that it would be in the greater interest for Hill and the Gators to simply part ways.
