UM Preparing for #17 Ohio State

The Canes will be welcoming back five players from suspensions come Saturday night versus Ohio State.  These players include:  LB Sean Spence, WR Travis Benjamin, QB Jacory Harris, DE Adewale Ojomo, DT Marcus Forston and LB Kelvin Cain, who has suspended for other reasons not related to Nevingate.  Golden referred to these guys as "the glue" of the team, saying they looked "pretty sharp" during practice.  This will be huge for us.  I am really pulling for Harris as he steps into his final season at The University of Miami. He is 15-9 as a starter definitely has the experience--let's see if he has gained the mental aspect required to not only put together a solid game, but a solid season.  Golden said that Harris "is in good shape, [and] mentally he has been strong and resilient."  Definitely a plus.

Freshman Denzel Perryman impressed during the Maryland game, but with the return of Sean Spence his playing time may be limited.  We are looking forward to seeing Travis Benjamin back on Special Teams.  Last year he had a punt returned for a touchdown and he is certainly a threat when on the field.  Between him and Miller we expect big things from our return group.

Golden expects Ohio State to be pumped up for this game, as does everybody.  Though they struggled with Toledo this past weekend (and were also 18 point favorites) Golden expects to "see their best."  Ohio State has also been dealing with suspensions this year and will come to Miami shorthanded.  Let's hope Cane Nation fills the stands.
