With Under Armour practice day 2 in the books, here are some quick updates for those interested.
Current UM commit Duke Johnson has impressed as usual. Although there is limited contact during praftice, it has been reported that Johnson has remained elusive as we have all come to expect.
Preston Dewey, another UM commit, has looked shaky throughout practice. He is certainly rusty, and this may be due to a wrist injury that he suffered during the last month of his high school season. Dewey was responsible for a couple of interceptions and had trouble adjusting to the speed of the game.
One of the biggest surprises on the squad is current UM commit Angelo Jean-Louis. He has consistently been open and possesses the physical attributes to succeed at the next level. Miami would like Jean-Louis to play DB, however, it may be in their best interest to keep him at WR.
Some notable UM targets to watch at the Under Armour game:
OL Avery Young - Young has announced that Miami will receive his final visit. He is said to be the most athletic lineman on the team, but some say that he lacks the size to be a true offensive lineman.
DE Leonard Williams - At 6'5"and 260 lbs., Williams shows a quickness off the line that is hard to contain. To say the least, he is the real deal.
RB Wes Brown - Oh, where do we start with this youngster. He changes his mind more than Kim Kardashian changes men. Brown is a speedster and finally announced that he will be visiting UM on January 20th. Let's see if he sticks by his word this time around.
DB P.J. Williams - Currently a Florida State commit, many think that Golden may get this kid to flip to the "U." He has already visited UM, but many seem to think that he was only after the free trip. In any event, Williams has the size to play safety and could be switched between DB and S.
Also, former UM commit Keith Brown is set to announce his decision this week at the Army All American Game. Brown says that he will choose between Miami, Louisville, and Illinois (where he is still a soft commit). Duke Johnson insists that he does not know which school Brown will choose.
Some others expected to announce this week: Tyriq McCord, Deon Bush, Lucas Thompson, Tracy Howard, James Burgess Jr., and Greg Garmon.
The Under Armour All American game can be seen January 5th at 7:30 p.m. on ESPN.
The Army All American game can be seen January 7th at Noon on NBC.
